The arrival of a new Donna Summer album is a major musical event and CRAYONS is a worthy addition to one of the world’s most influential musical catalogs. Five-time Grammy winner, Donna Summer, maintains an unbroken string of hits throughout the 70s and 80s, most of which she wrote. Donna holds the record for most consecutive double albums to hit #1 on the Billboard charts (3) and first female to have four #1 singles in a 12 month period; 3 as a solo artist and one as a duo with Barbara Streisand. http://www.myspace.com/donnasummer
Ms.Summer is one of the most successful female hitmakers of the rock era and has been nominated for the 2008 Rock & Roll Hall of fame! Her music paved the way for many other female hitmakers like Madonna, Janet, Whitney, Rihanna & Beyonce ect. Her New CD is now avaiable in store and online.
“The Queen is Back! Donna Summer has broken the curse. For far too long, record companies have lazily saddled established artists — black female singers, in particular — with “covers” projects. Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Patti Austin, Deniece Williams, Gladys Knight, Miki Howard, Patti LaBelle, and Vanessa Williams have all released albums comprised of well-known songs already emblazoned in the minds of listeners by other artists (or their younger selves, in the case of Warwick). While some efforts certainly succeed more than others, the trend bespeaks a lack of creativity from record labels. These artists are more than worthy of original material.
“I wanted this album to have a lot of different directions on it, I did not want it to be any one baby. I just wanted it to be a sampler of flavors and influences from all over the world. There’s a touch of this, a little smidgeon of that, a dash of something else … like when you’re cooking.” — Donna Summer

Donna’s new CD is called “Crayons”, the 1st single is called “Stamp your Feet”…As far as the album goes, some of the producers on the record aside from Sebastian Arocha Morton AKA ROCAsound (Jody Watley, Samantha James) reportedly include Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Peaches, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kylie Minogue - see her latest single, “Wow”), J.R. Rotem and Evan ‘Kidd’ Bogart (Rihanna, Sean Kingston), son of late Casablanca founder, Neil Bogart, no less. The Freemasons were also reported to be on the album earlier last year, however, it’s uncertain whether anything actually came out of that.. Some of the other collaborators that have been reported so far include singer/songwriter/actor Danielle Brisebois, Toby Gad, Fergie, Kandi Burruss and hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari..Donna in one of the top 10 selling felmale vocals in History! “The dance Queen is back!

No you …
No you misunderstood, Donna is talking about the Queen of great women in history that can actually sing. Madonna is fantastic, but supreme vocalist she is not. Besides Donna was the Madonna of the 70’s and early 80’s. When Donna wanted down time, Madonna took over where she left off… Madonna without Donna Summer, Unthinkable!
THIS COMMENT IS GENIUS!

I saw Donna in …
I saw Donna in Boston this past saturday. After spending a few days thinking about it I have come to the conclusion it was the best concert I have ever been to. I was floored by the show, her voice remains just as golden as ever, and what amazed me was that her new music is as good as her previous stuff. Move over Madonna, Celine, Stevie Nicks, Whitney-
Donna Summer is the greatest diva of you all. Dan

Oh Donna, where …
Oh Donna, where have you been ?. I was only six years old when your last record came out but, even then, I could sing your entire back catalogue. You were my mom’s favourite - I was listening to your brill music in the womb. This work - “Crayons - is a work of art and well worth the wait. I love all the tracks but “Fame(the Game)” has got smash hit written all over it.
Her Madgesty will be very very mad,Donna, coz now she must relinquish her throne to the true queen of disco/pop. Welcome back!
